EFL female students’ perceptions in doing collaborative writing in an online writing class

چکیده

Collaborative writing is an approach teachers can apply to support their students’ development. However, despite the benefits from collaborative writing, some English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students might not enjoy in groups. This qualitative study aims explore perceptions of EFL female doing Writing for Media class, such how they think about finishing tasks collaboratively, and challenges order know whether actually improve skills or opposite. The were chosen because studies prove that contribute more group’s success. Data gathered through semi-structured interview with five private university Central Java, Indonesia. My analysis results indicated had positive towards i.e., helping other complete tasks, providing opportunities share ideas, improving skills. Meanwhile, most research participants faced dealing differences opinion, lacking equal contribution group members. Practical suggestions online activities classrooms recommendations future are presented, assist monitor progress, giving specific topic write minimize conflict rubrics peer assessment.
